Android Market Experiencing Exponential Growth

Google's Android operating system reports new applications in excess of 200,000, the latest stats on the Android Market show. It won't be long until Android overtakes Apple in the number of available apps and total numbers of loyal fans. With over 103 downloads per second on average at the moment and according to some of the latest estimates, the Android operating system may take the first position on the mobile market in three years.

Amazingly at only two years of age, the Android Market managed to pass the 2.5 billion downloaded applications mark, a number pretty impressive too, according to estimates from AndroLib.com.

Citizens of the World are clammering to get their hands on one of these hot new Android devices. Android smartphones just arrived in India and are expected to be a huge hit there, unlike the iPhone thingy.
